So many actions Trump is taking and all of them harmful. Have we ever had a government like this that tried to reshape the whole country into the likeness of the president? As all sources of resistance to him and his proxies are silenced, we are seeing a cage of enforced rigid orthodoxy descending on institutions and individuals alike where dissenting views are not tolerated and actively suppressed. Here in April we are seeing ever increasing viewpoint discrimination practiced by the government. How long before it becomes viewpoint criminalization? Treasonous ideas, like belief in climate change, civil liberties and civil rights leading to jail sentences? This is Orwellian.
I’m grateful for your persistence in defining the daily assaults on our democracy. You always have at least one or two that I never realized happened. And every action he takes matters. The Social Security stripping of numbers that then puts immigrants in the Dead file, unless I misunderstand, will then result in all of the dollars that they pay in while working currently, no longer be added to Social Security. So they will have no way to actually be paid for their work, other than in cash if their employer will take the chance, as well as shrink the overall pool of dollars available to recipients. Evil to the core, as well as shortsided, if you want Social Security to be viable, which clearly Republicans don’t.
