Olga, Thank you for your thorough coverage of what the Trump/Musk/Heritage Foundation administration is doing.

I am suspicious that Elon Musk is in the treasury disemboweling USAID, medicare, medicaid, social security, the dept of Education right now as a scare tactic to pressure the Democrats to raise the debt ceiling because all of the fuddling around and cutting that he does, is not going to get them the kind of tax breaks that he wants himself and his fellow non-tax paying billionaires to have.

At least one Republican is speaking up. Good for Angus King of Maine.

His words are spot on. With more calls perhaps more Republicans will speak up too. It is a measure of their intelligence if they do.

1. We should demand legal action against Trump’s Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, who gave Musk and his Geek squad permission to invade our Treasury Department and steal our private data.

2. We should organize a nationwide class action lawsuit on behalf of American citizens whose identity and private data has been stolen by Elon Musk, a private individual with no legal authority to do so. Monetary Damages should be sought for compensation to all citizens who have been harmed by Musk’s illegal, unconstitutional actions.

We need to keep talking about this and celebrate the small wins to keep hope alive. I'm not saying there's a miracle around the corner, because that's pretty unlikely. Hope will keep our minds open to ways we can help each other and undermine their attempts at control

Thanks Olga, keep up the good work. Fabian tactics always defeat blitzes. Remember that. Musk is Trump's achilles heel. By the time Trump realizes it, it will be too late.

It's good that Democrats are filing lawsuits to block the orange turd’s illegal executive orders. But are Democrats looking at the big picture? The orange turd's goal here is to reverse all progressive legislation since the New Deal, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and all regulation of business for the common good. So, what is the Democrats’ plan to prevent Trump from getting rid of all government functions that are “for the people” and privatizing the ones he can't get rid of? Democrats long ago failed to defeat the nonsensical message that government is the problem, not the solution. Of course it didn't help that Republicans did all they could to prevent government from being the solution. Democrats also failed to prevent the slogan, “tax and spend” from becoming a slur. And yet it is obvious that for the government to do things “for the people,” it must raise taxes, preferably through progressive taxation with rich and businesses paying more. So what's the Democrats’ plan to prevent the US from becoming an oligarchy with a 19th century laissez faire form of government?

We need to organize a defense and get to work in a coordinated manner. Why have we not done so? I think we do not have a hierarchical framework that leads. One would think that is the DNC’s role, but that was a missed step. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/a-movements-success?r=3m1bs
